The IR spectrum of doxycycline shows characteristic absorptions at 3400 and 3200 cm-1, corresponding to OH and NH, respectively. The first band is broader in the complex due to the presence of water. The amide I band at 1670 cm-1, C O ; , appears at 1661 cm-1 in the complex and decreases in intensity. A large group of female recreational divers were asked to keep menstrual and diving diaries for a minimum period of six months, and for up to three consecutive years each. The study was completed in 2001, data entry and quality assessment completed in 2002 and now analysis is currently underway with presentation and publication planned from 2003 onwards.
